NEASDEN LANE
Sitting just outside the Neasden Station Growth Area Draft Masterplan SPD and adjacent to the station gives the site a lot of development potential. A predominantly residential scheme also accommodated for commercial spaces at ground to help improve the local amenities with the proposal of restaurants, cafes and an outside amphitheatre.
The scheme bridges the gap between the high-rise masterplan and the smaller scale terrace houses to the North. A podium was therefore introduced to help merge these two very different typologies together.
Rear Amphitheatre – Public amenity at ground was a priority for the scheme to help activate the streetscape. An amphitheatre allows a the public space to become a busy hub situated at the entrance of Neasden Station grounding the scheme within the local context and wider SPD.
Lifting the Base – ‘Lifting the skirt’ of the building creates an open public offering that spills out from the cafes at ground. This also allows for maximum vegetation at the base of the scheme.
Neasden Station SPD – The site is located just outside the Neasden Station Growth Area which allows the scheme to tie into the proposed development area.
Quality Accommodation – To achieve a high quality of living, residential units are elevated up to the second floor. This mitigates traffic and noise pollution and increases the air quality and general quality of accommodation.
